We at Popup Cafe love food and think it's a really important part of life. However we are aware that not everyone has the same level of access and opportunity that we do. As part of our desire to share our belief in the value of a healthy food culture; we are trying to raise funds to bring 'Bags of Taste' to Deal and Dover.

This national charity works to transform lives by empowering people to make long lasting changes to their diets and be financially resilient for life.

In the Deal and Dover district there are areas where one in three children are living in absolute poverty, with almost a third of school children Dover receiving free school meals*

This project finds sixty individuals or families  facing multiple challenges — such as poor health, disability, long‑term unemployment or insecure housing — and facilitates a mentored home cooking course directly in their homes, supporting the cooking of nutritious, whole meals from scratch.

On completion of the course outcomes have shown increased confidence in cooking and reduced spending on takeaways and processed foods that are expensive, addictive and can induce long-term health implications.

We are hoping to raise £3,000 out of the £6,600 required for the project to run. If you are unable to come to the supper and would still like to donate please head to the local giving page.
